I am all for making a first birthday cake healthy for the toddler, but I draw a line at bone barrow. Yes, bone barrow. But one mom, Bridget Levine, was apparently determined to give her little one a sugar-free birthday cake using watermelon and bone marrow. The result is something that looks edible. Until you realize the frosting is made primarily with the scraped innards of bones from cows or other animals.

Bridget posted a video on Instagram of her husband preparing bone marrow frosting for her to pipe onto the large chunk of watermelon that doubles as their daughter’s cake for her first birthday. I get it. No one wants to stuff their newly minted toddler full of sugar and butter on their first birthday. Save it for their third or fourth, maybe. But this is a little much, at least according to the dozens of comments under Bridget’s video.

The mom really wanted to make sure the cake was sugar-free.

Bridget uses a frosting piping bag to make a cute design on the rind-free hunk of watermelon before she and her husband give it to their daughter. And their daughter really goes to town on it. Something tells me that prepared bone marrow is something this family has had before, so it might be something that Bridget’s daughter is plenty familiar with. 

Be that as it may, people couldn’t resist sharing their snarky comments under the video on Instagram.

“For my daughter’s 1st birthday I gave her a raccoon carcass,” one joked. Another commented, “She’s gonna remember this cake in therapy in fifteen years.” “If you’re looking for attention, you got it,” someone else added.

Others joked about feeding their dog something similar. Some also commented to speculate on what else Bridget might feed her daughter. “Her two favorite foods are roadkill and swamp juice but we skipped the swamp juice,” one of Bridget’s critics wrote.

It turns out, parents can and do use bone marrow to make a healthy alternative to frosting or to smash cakes in general. One bone marrow recipe includes honey to help sweeten it. But, per the recipe, bone marrow, when prepared properly, is a perfect nutrient-rich option for babies and adults. Well, maybe perfect isn’t the right word. It’s still a wild concept to many.

But it’s definitely a thing.

“I made this recipe but I replaced the watermelon for cake and the bone marrow frosting for chocolate frosting and it turned out pretty good,” someone wrote under Bridget’s video, clearly as a cheeky joke. “Thanks for the recipe!”

Bone marrow reportedly tastes savory and even nutty. If parents are adding honey to naturally sweeten it, then maybe Bridget is onto something, especially for parents who try to steer clear of sugar any way they can.

However, another user added in the comment section, “Just because we can… doesn’t mean we should.”

Who doesn’t get a little giddy when it’s that magical time of year again—Girl Scout cookie time? We all do. It’s an American rite of passage, basically. But one TikTok creator recently dropped a “very boomer hot take” that’s stirring up more than a few conversations: she thinks that grown-ups helping sell cookies on social media is totally missing the point.

In her video, she brings the heat and gets right to the point: “No more posting cookie links on your adult social feeds.” Because — and hear her out — if your kid isn’t the one knocking on doors, chatting up neighbors, or personally hustling those Thin Mints, are we really teaching them anything at all?

She specifically says she doesn’t think Girl Scouts should be able to sell cookies through their parents’ social media accounts. Now at this point, we all probably know what she means—one of our friends or acquaintances shares a link to their little girls’ cookie page, we buy them, the Girl Scouts organization ships them, and poof! A dozen boxes of Thin Mints can show up on our doorstep less than a week later. There’s zero fuss, but also zero human interaction.

“I know that it’s not, you know, 2003, whatever, anymore, and social media is a big thing,” she explains. “Totally get it. It just defeats the whole purpose of selling Girl Scout cookies.”

Carly, the TikTok mom in question, says that when she was a Girl Scout and her mom was her troop leader, her mom had her wear a button to school that said, “I sell Girl Scout cookies.” She then told her daughter to approach her friends, teachers and neighbors personally by asking, “Would you like to buy some Girl Scout cookies?” with the order form.

“Like, that’s the whole point of selling the Girl Scout cookies,” she says. “And I just feel like it’s such a cop-out for the girls to be able to have their parent, adult, whoever post on their Facebook page.”

Now, before you roll your eyes and mutter “OK Boomer,” let’s be real:

Girl Scout cookie selling has changed. Folks can order them online now, which is super convenient, but some parents still feel like something intangible gets lost along the way when adults take the wheel. The system is set up so that if a Girl Scout still wants to sell them in-person, she can—which is great. And the girls can “create” and set up their own website with a custom url to sell them (aka Mom and Dad do all the work). But it’s just not the same.

A lot of commenters agree, saying they miss the good ol’ days when parents would bring the order form to work and set it out in the break room (ah, nostalgia). Though a few people said at the very least, these girls need to “set up out in front of a Walmart” like they did back in the day, lol. The Girl Scouts are a noble organization for sure, but they’re still in it for selling the most amount of cookies no matter what.

When I was a kid, I liked trying new things. I knew nothing about pottery, but I convinced my mom to buy me a pottery wheel kit. Despite being apprehensive, I started doing acrobatics. It’s not that I was fearless, I simply understood my skill set and found activities that fit inside them without prior experience. That’s why seeing a little girl decide she’s going to learn piano in two days for her school talent show brings me so much joy.

I love to see a kid who believes in themself enough to do something hard. And I’m not the only one; the girl went viral on TikTok as her mom documented her progress.

No one was more surprised than her mom.

Mom Stephanie shared a video of her daughter proudly marching through her garage, dad in tow, carrying a piano keyboard with a bemused look on his face.

“POV: Our daughter came home from school and told us she entered the talent show for playing piano,” she wrote on the video. “She’s never played piano in her life,” she added.

The mom can be seen and heard laughing to the point where she becomes red faced. “Man, I haven’t laughed this hard in a while,” she captioned the video. She added that she loves parenting with her “green-flag husband” just because of moments like this.

“This is the type of confidence I aspire for myself,” the official TikTok account for the band KISS replied.

The girl had to learn piano in only a few days.

Mom explained that her daughter only had 48 hours to learn how to play the instrument before her talent show video submission was due. 

In her next video, Stephanie showed her daughter learning to play the theme song to the show ‘Bluey,’ gently plunking out the melody on the keys. Both Stephanie and her husband are encouraging the girl, advising her to “slow down” and “start over” when she makes a mistake.

“Its been 24 hours since she came home from school and told us she’ll be playing an instrument she’s never played in the talent show 🤣 surprised us all and is actually picking it up fast,” the caption read.

Again, there were hundreds of comments from people encouraging the mini virtuoso for her efforts.

“She said ‘you know what, I think I’d be good at that’, and she was right,” one person wrote.

“I’ve never been prouder of a stranger before!” someone else added.

Her audition video really is the cutest thing you’ll see today.

After sharing that the audition video had been submitted, Stephanie treated us to viewing it too. And it’s amazing to see that her girl really did learn piano in two days. I am beyond impressed!

“My name is Mackenzie, and I’ll be playing the ‘Bluey’ theme song,” she says confidently before playing. Despite a few little hiccups, she absolutely nailed it! People couldn’t help but heap on the praise.

“I know a queen when I see one, she setup a goal and definitely accomplished it,” one commenter wrote.

“No it’s okay, I planned on sobbing to the bluey song today anyway,” another commenter wrote.

Someone else added, “This is so cute!! She did a great job. And good on you parents for figuring out and encouraging her!”

There are people who carry two, three, four, and even more babies at once during pregnancies. But to know that and to see it are two entirely different things. A woman named Coco Hannemann who has an Instagram account dedicated to her life with triplets, before and after she gave birth, shared a video of her baby bump that people just can’t get over.

Coco’s pregnant belly looks exactly how you might expect it to. Just picture a standard baby bump with one baby inside, and then multiply that by three. So yeah, pretty large and pretty uncomfortable looking. There is no getting around the discomfort that Coco must feel with her triplet baby bump and for some people, they hadn’t seen a triplet baby bump so up close and personal before now.

In her video, Coco shows her pregnant belly before she gave birth to her triplets. She says in the video that people often ask how three babies fit inside her stomach. Although she’s not a medical professional, and probably felt annoyed any time someone asked her an invasive question about her pregnancy, she says in her video that all three babies are “layered.” As a result, her stomach is pointing outward, almost like she is a long watermelon in there, sideways. Comfy, right?

As normal or typical as a pointed belly might be late in a pregnancy for someone carrying triplets, it’s still a sight that not many are used to. Toward the end of Coco’s pregnancy, her Instagram account, her belly got more pointy. But it didn’t start out that way. As her babies continued to grow and move around, and lose space inside of her belly, their positions resulted in her pointed baby bump.

“I’m a triplet, and just to see this makes me want to take my mom out for ice cream on me,” one user commented on Coco’s video. “Good Lord. Best of luck to your blessings.”

Another wrote, “Women’s bodies are AMAZING! Doing an incredible job, Mama!”

Not everyone was as encouraging, though. Some commented to say how “painful” or “uncomfortable” Coco looks late in her pregnancy. One man joked that he is traumatized by the image of her very large baby bump.

“I don’t understand how the skin doesn’t just split open,” someone wrote. Alright, that’s one way to look at the stretched and discolored skin at the top of the pointed baby bump.

To be clear, a bulbous or pointed baby bump is totally normal in pregnancies with multiples. Other moms with multiples have shared their own baby bump journeys on social media. All babies might be different, but the bellies they came out of were all very much stretched and altered in ways that some of us just can’t comprehend.

Some things in life are just unavoidable and certain, like death, taxes, and your grandma’s backhanded compliments and comments. That might just be the boomer way, and something we have come to expect from that generation, but when one woman, Sarah, shared a text from her grandma on TikTok, she pointed out that being criticized by family members for clothing choices or for your body probably shouldn’t be normalized.

The issue, according to Sarah’s grand, was a horizontal striped weather Sarah wore for family photos. When her grandma texted her about wearing vertical stripes instead, well, you can see where this is going. Sarah pointed out in the comments, “Generational ‘truths’ becoming generational insecurities.” Girl, clock it, and say it for the boomers in the back.

The grandma’s boomer comment wasn’t even surprising.

In Sarah’s TikTok, she shared a photo of her, her husband, and their two kids. They all look happy in the family photo and, it should be noted, Sarah is wearing a black and white striped sweater.

Apparently, though, it was too much for Grandma not to focus on when she texted her. The next photo in Sarah’s post is the text in question, and we have all heard this at one point from a mom, grandma, or other form of a boomer in our lives.

“Pictures are great,” the grandma texted her. “Just a little hint though. Stripes going around you make you look bigger and up and down stripes make you look thinner.”

Yep, that’s it. That’s the text.

Mind you, the photo also features happy smiles from everyone and Sarah’s husband looking directly at her, and not the camera like everyone else, with pure love in his eyes. But Grandma just had to comment on something else entirely, as boomers tend to do.

When someone commented on the post to tell Sarah that their mom told them that very thing when they were growing up, Sarah was quick with her response: “Generational trauma but make it fashion advice lol.” That is too real.

Others gave Sarah some possible responses for her grandma, should a similar situation arise again.

“Thanks for the tip!” One user wrote. “You big gals sure know all the best hacks!” Another added, “And you’re more than old enough to know that if you don’t have something nice to say then it’s best not to say anything at all but I guess we all need reminders sometimes so here’s yours.”

When someone commented to say that it isn’t a woman’s sole job to “look smaller” for other people’s benefit, Sarah replied, “Yeah, because Heaven forbid women exist comfortably in their own bodies.”

Some commented on Sarah’s video to say that she is “too soft” and that the comment from her grandma isn’t that big of a deal. But for others, who commented that they’ve heard comments about their bodies and weight for their entire lives from their own family members, Sarah’s post is a reminder that sometimes, those comments come out of nowhere.

A recent video on TikTok is blowing up after the creator revealed they attended a virtual gynecology appointment. People in the comments are noting the hilarity of using a phone for this kind of examination, and they do not disappoint.

Nowadays, you can do a lot of things virtually, including doctor’s appointments. It totally makes sense if you think you may have a cold or maybe even an allergic reaction. But how in the world could a doctor do a virtual pelvic exam?

TikTok user Harmony made a video highlighting the humor of this option.

People didn’t hesitate to share their thoughts.

“Can you see my hemorrhoid from here, Doc?” one comment reads. Another commenter shared an image of an undressed doll, adding, “In the virtual waiting room like.”

“The OB opening the video call to see you with your ankles behind your ears,” another user wrote. One person joked that they planned on “using my eyelash curler as a speculum.”

It’s impossible not to laugh while reading through this comment section.

“Your doctor like,” is accompanied by a picture of fingers zooming in on a phone screen. “I see scars, old razor?” one person replied.

In the span of one month, multiple people lost their lives in Minneapolis for standing up to ICE agents in a nonviolent way. But, according to a Christian influencer mom on social media, Haley Williams, there are plenty of things you can do to avoid “being shot by ICE.” Never mind the fact that Renee Good and Alex Pretti did not leave their homes seeking out a violent confrontation with ICE agents on the streets of Minneapolis.

But don’t worry, because, as Haley shared in an Instagram post, “Seems that a lot of people could use a hobby, some more time in front of a stove or on a treadmill.” So, instead of challenging ICE and fighting for people who are unable to fight for themselves, or fighting for freedom of individuals in the United States, Haley has some hobbies you can take up to just stay out of it. No, it is not satire.

She says she’s not challenging ICE because she’s “not an idiot.”

In Haley’s post, she shared several photos and little descriptions of what she does daily to prevent herself from being harmed by ICE agents. As in, she lives her life as she normally would and has no interest in attending a protest to openly oppose ICE agents, despite the violence that has ensued in Minneapolis.

She noted in her post that “drinking coffee and cuddling [her] baby” is one way she keeps any potential rage in check. She also shared a photo of herself with her husband and wrote on the picture, “Research shows being happily married multiplies your contentment with not disrupting law enforcement at least 874%.”

Another image, in which Haley is holding a homemade quilt, said that taking up a hobby will keep you safe, apparently. And she really brought the message home with this one.

She wrote, “Research shows you’ll be too busy figuring out how to quilt to assault ICE agents with your vehicle or drive around blowing a whistle like a 15-year-old lifeguard.”

Another one of the photos Haley shared is of her with her kids. She wrote on that photo that she spends time with  her kids because, per her cheeky “research,” spending time with your kids makes you appreciate how you can “protect them from criminals and illegal aliens.”

After someone shared a summary of Haley’s post on X (formerly Twitter), users criticized her line of thinking and her cheeky one-liners about how she “stays safe” from ICE.

“White privilege 101,” one user commented on X.

Someone else wrote, “The concept of being Christian and supporting innocent people getting shot.”

Naturally, someone had something from the Bible to point out in opposition of the influencer’s views.

“Romans 6:16,” They wrote. “‘Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey?’ They worship authority and fear. Righteousness and freedom are equivalent. And our freedom is being infringed upon.”

Haley’s Instagram is full of Bible verses and details about how she lives a Christian lifestyle devoted to leaning on her faith. But the idea of Christianity involves acceptance and love of people no matter where they are from. At least, that’s what some of us were led to believe. Apparently, Haley’s Bible is a little different.

Since President Trump took office in January 2025, if you criticize the government, you are in danger. Two people have lost their lives in Minnesota while protesting the presence of ICE in the state. And instead of condemning the killing of innocent citizens at the hands of the government, those in charge are trying to make dead people out to be the problem. Florida nurse Lexie Lawler, tired of the hypocrisy of the government, used her personal TikTok account to make a bold statement about White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. And less than a day later, she didn’t have a job.

“As a labor and delivery nurse, it gives me great joy to wish Karoline Leavitt a fourth-degree tear,” Lawler said in a since-deleted post that is still circulating on social media, People reported. “I hope that you f—ing rip from bow to stern and never sh– normally again, you c—.”

The post blew up on social media, with Trump supporters immediately calling for Lawler’s termination. It’s not lost on me that this is the same group of people who seem to have no issues with violence when it’s at the hands of the government, are big mad about the ill-will of a nurse who will never interact with Leavitt.

Here’s the thing…

I can totally understand where Lawler was coming from when she made that video. She’s frustrated by constantly seeing Karoline Leavitt justifying the horrific actions of this cruel government. And while I might have saved those comments for the group chat and not TikTok, I fully agree in preserving her right to say them publicly.

Baptist Health Boca Raton Regional Hospital confirmed that Lexie Lawler is no longer employed there in a statement to CBS12.

“The comments made in a social media video by a nurse at one of our facilities do not reflect our values or the standards we expect of healthcare professionals,” the statement said. “Following a prompt review, the individual is no longer employed by our health system.”

According to the statement, the hospital believes in the right to have personal opinions.

However, they said “there is no place in healthcare for language or behavior that calls into question a caregiver’s ability to provide compassionate, unbiased care.”

Boca Raton Mayor Scott Singer shared his thoughts on Lawler’s comments on social media. “These disgusting comments have no place in medicine or in our community,” he wrote.

“Lexie Lawler was fired for political speech.”

Her husband Tim Lawler shared that belief in a GoFundMe fundraiser he started.

“She is a liberal woman who used her personal social media — on her own time — to sharply criticize a public figure tied to a cruel, harmful administration. Her words were blunt, angry, and unapologetic. They were directed at power, not her workplace.”

He argued that her comments were “lawful,” adding the “retaliation” she’s facing is “real.”

Tim Lawler then criticized Baptist Health Boca Raton for choosing “risk management over free expression” and firing his wife. He explained that he started the fundraiser to obtain “employment and civil rights counsel so Lexie can defend herself without being financially bullied into silence.”

What Lexie Lawler is experiencing is a stark reminder of the fact that free speech isn’t free in the United States if you’re using it to criticize the government.

Alix Earle is going into the new year with some tough challenges in her personal life. Just weeks after a very public breakup with former Miami Dolphins player Braxton Berrios and being linked to Tom Brady, the 25-year-old revealed a serious issue: Her mother has breast cancer.

The New Jersey native’s parents, Thomas “TJ” Earle and Alisa Maniaci, first met at Lynn University in Boca Raton in the mid-1990s, and divorced in 2013. The exes, who are still based in the Garden State, also share another daughter, Ashtin Earle, 22.

In an Instagram and TikTok video on Sunday, Alix Earle is seen bundled up in a down coat visiting her mom in a hospital apparently up north.

“F— cancer,” reads the text over a screen while a female narrator says in a voiceover: “Strong women never give up. We might need a coffee, we might need a good cry, we might need a day in bed, but we will always come back stronger.”

The clip was captioned, “Go momma! So proud and inspired by you no challenge you can’t face … I love you.”

Though the timeline of her mother’s illness wasn’t shared, Earle told someone in the comments that the diagnosis came halfway through her recent stint on “Dancing with the Stars.” The University of Miami grad came in second place to mirrorball trophy winner Robert Irwin in Los Angeles last November.

“She still showed up every week,” wrote Earle, whose tribe has a somewhat complicated backstory.

The mega influencer also has three half-siblings from her father’s second marriage to Ashley Dupré, a former call girl who shot to fame for her role in the Eliot Spitzer prostitution scandal, which led to his resignation as governor of New York in 2008.

These days, the blended family is quite close, and Dupré also was seen rooting for her stepdaughter from her own TikTok perch.

In one of her “Hot Mess” podcasts in 2024, Earle addressed the relationship with her 40-year-old stepmom, whom she sees as more like a “sister.”

Though admitting the transition after her father, a construction honcho, left her mother, a philanthropist, was tough, all is well now.

“I don’t want people to think that our parents got divorced and we were like, ‘Hey, we’re a big perfect family,’ ” said Earle. “Because it was like years and years of us fighting and hashing it out to get to this point that we’re at, and I’m very grateful that we’re here.”
